Temperature screening implemented at the Chesapeake Courthouse.
Effective November 23, 2020, the Sheriff shall screen the temperature of each person entering the Courthouse.
Virginia Supreme Court issues guidance for remote hearings for civil cases
The Virginia Supreme Court has issued guidance for holding remote access hearings in civil cases. Please see attached document.
Effective July 20, 2020, the Circuit Court docket is opening to criminal bench trials
Effective July 20, 2020, the Circuit Court docket is opening to criminal bench trials, if a hearing request form is submitted timely, and the docket allows.
Effective July 1, 2020, Rule 3A:11 governing criminal discovery in Circuit Court has changed.
Effective July 1, 2020, the changes to Rule 3A:11 of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Virginia governing Circuit Court discovery take effect. Thank you to the Chesapeake Commonwealth's Attorney's Office for their hard work on a model order.
